HPKM^® Column Shoes offer a fast and secure method for mounting precast concrete columns to foundations, as well as establishing connections between precast concrete columns. This widely approved product is suitable for various types of precast columns.

HPKM^® Column Shoes are specifically designed to establish moment-resisting stiff connections utilizing HPM^® Anchor Bolts or COPRA^® Anchoring Couplers.

Column shoes are cast into precast concrete columns, while anchor bolts are embedded into foundations or other structures. On-site, the columns are erected onto the anchor bolts and adjusted to the correct level and vertical position by tightening nuts onto the anchor bolts. Subsequently, the joint between the column and the base structure is grouted, and in the final stage, the grouted joint acts as a traditional reinforced concrete cross-section.

During the erection stage, the column does not require any temporary bracing, ensuring an efficient construction process. Typically, four column shoes are sufficient to create a moment-resisting connection. Peikko's product range also includes accessories that facilitate easy installation of the column shoes. HPKM^® Column Shoe connections are ETA approved (ETA-18/0037) and can also be designed in accordance with ACI 318M-11 guidelines.
